Sean Gleason

In addition to his role on City Council, Sean Gleason is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Oak Ridge-based National Security firm IB3 Global Solutions. His company is focused on reducing radiological and nuclear threats through technical and training solutions. IB3 Global has been recognized as an INC 5000 fastest-growing private business in America and currently employs nearly 200 staff at locations across the United States.

Mr. Gleason's commitment to service began with his enlistment in the United States Marine Corps in 1999. Trained in Signals Intelligence and Electronic Ground Warfare, Mr. Gleason deployed in support of the Global War on Terrorism and conducted intelligence preparation of the battlefield and other operations across the Central Command theater. Mr. Gleason received numerous awards and commendations during the prosecution of these mission objectives. Upon honorable discharge, he once again returned to the Middle East in support of ongoing intelligence and combined joint special operations task force counterterrorism operations.

Returning to Washington, D.C. in 2007, Mr. Gleason married his now-wife Sharon and began to build a career within the federal government contracting community. By 2011 he was Senior Vice President of private-equity-owned counterterrorism firm A-T Solutions and remained in ever-increasing Operational or Business Development roles in successive companies that needed significant growth to meet targets.

Mr. Gleason and his wife support many local and national charitable organizations. He serves on the Tennessee Executive Board for Folds of Honor, a veteran and first responder-centric organization, dedicated to providing educational scholarships to the families of killed or wounded service members. He is a member of the Board of Directors for West Knoxville Little League and participates in a leadership capacity for the Institute of Nuclear Materials Management. Mr. Gleason has been named to the Leadership Council of the Tennessee Valley Corridor which seeks to encourage ongoing collaboration in energy, science, environment, space, national security, and education.

He and Sharon are raising three children in Oak Ridge and, through his wife's support to Oak Ridge Family Resources Center, are acutely aware of the disparity in opportunity and quality of life across our City. Councilman Gleason is dedicated to feeding the momentum of economic growth across Oak Ridge and creating the mechanisms to lift all of our residents.

Term Expires: November 2026
