The City of Oak Ridge Recreation and Parks Department is happy to announce our Spring Break, “Bird-Themed” Art in the Park Week, which will be held March 16 - 20, from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. each day, and is open to students in 2nd to 5th grades. Early drop off time begins at 8:30 a.m. and pick-up time ends at 2:30 p.m.

Instructor, Melissa Bishop, will guide students through creating a variety of bird-themed arts and crafts projects such as a bird feeder, leaf-imprinted t-shirt smocks, bird masks, and colorful, stained glass look, tissue birds! Weather permitting, students will venture into Bissel Park for some local bird habitat exploration. Students will need to pack a lunch. After lunch each day, students will have the opportunity to play some games in the gym or visit the playground for some physical activity and fun!

Registration fee is $100 per student for the week for Oak Ridge residents and $105 for non-residents. Credit card registration is available online at orrecparks.oakridgetn.gov.  For more information call the Recreation and Parks Department office at 865-425-3450.
