The Fairy Self-Portrait class will meet on Thursdays beginning September 12 for six, one-hour sessions at the Oak Ridge Civic Center.

Participants in the Fairy Self-Portrait class will make a collage of themselves using pressed flowers, leaves, and other objects from nature, along with watercolor and drawing, to create a scene where they are the fairy. This class is for ages 10-14 years old.

The Pop Art Self-Portrait class will also meet for six, one-hour sessions on Thursdays at the Civic Center. The class will be held from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. on designated days beginning on November 7. The dates are as follows:

  • November 7
  • November 14
  • November 21
  • December 5

  • December 19

Participants in the Pop Art Self-Portrait class will turn themselves into an Andy Warhol-style work of art using colorful acrylic paints on an 8”x11” canvas. This class is also recommended for ages 10-14.

Images from both classes can be framed or saved digitally for use on greeting cards, postcards, magnets, and more. The cost for each six-week session is $75, with all supplies included.

Online registration is open now. Space is limited and spots are expected to fill up prior to the end of the registration period.
