A.K. Bissell Park Playground Temporarily Closed

POSTED: APRIL 18, 2019

UPDATE: As of April 26, A.K. Bissell Park Playground is *OPEN* following the safe removal of the tree hazard. The original announcement of the closure from April 18 is below.

The City of Oak Ridge Recreation and Parks Department has temporarily closed A.K. Bissell Park Playground due to a partially fallen tree nearby. The playground will remain closed until crews are able to safely remove the tree.

Safety fencing has been installed around the playground and signs have been posted to notify the public of the closure. All residents and visitors should avoid the area until further notice.

Recreation and Parks staff estimate the closure will remain in effect through the Easter weekend and into next week.

Questions about the closure can be directed to the Civic Center front desk at (865) 425-3450.
