Join the Healthy Waters Program and Keep Anderson County Beautiful (KACB) for a community litter cleanup. The City of Oak Ridge Healthy Waters Program has partnered with KACB to host this year’s Great American Cleanup event in Oak Ridge on Saturday, May 7 from 9:00am to 12:00pm. The event will be held at Melton Lake Park Pavilion and participants are welcome to join at any time during that period. The Great American Cleanup is the country’s largest community improvement program that kicks off in more than 20,000 communities each spring.
This year’s theme is “Clean Your Block Party!” Meet at the Melton Lake Park Pavilion for snacks and instructions before dispersing to pick up litter. Attendees may also pick up litter grabbers, gloves, vests, and bags to go cleanup on their own block; gloves, safety vests, litter pickers, water and snacks will be provided! All supplies and collected litter must be returned to the Pavilion at noon.
This event is free to attend and RSVP is optional. For more information or to reserve supplies, contact Stephanie Carlson at 865-425-1829 or
