2016 YAB Dodgeball Champions, Oak Ridge Elite (from left):
Connor Haste, Teagan Keith, Kevin Reedy, Kolton Reedy, Jeremiah Haste
and seated are Olivia Haste and Samantha Haste. The team was coached by Mark Haste.
The City of Oak Ridge Youth Advisory Board hosted the fifth annual Spring Youth Dodgeball Tournament at the Oak Ridge Civic Center on Saturday, April 2 at the Oak Ridge Civic Center. The event was created to offer local teens the chance to compete in the unique and fast-paced team sport of dodgeball. The double elimination, co-ed tournament hosted 8 teams made up of over 70 local youth, including a team of German foreign exchange students.
“Oak Ridge Elite” captured the Tournament Championship and completed the event with a perfect record, by defeating “Lumberjhorts” 3-0 in the championship match. Team “Off the Wall” also had a good showing coming in third place. Thanks to all the volunteer coaches, players and fans who made this a fun, successful event for students.
