Team registration for the City of Oak Ridge Department of Recreation & Parks’ 2016 spring softball season is now open. Men’s, women’s, and co-ed leagues will all be offered during the spring calendar. Teams must complete registration paperwork and pay a $300 registration fee by March 14th for early registration pricing. Teams registering after the early deadline may do so until March 19th and will be subject to an additional late fee of $25. Teams must contain a minimum of 9 players, and all players must sign the team’s roster in advance to be eligible to participate. Co-ed teams must bat an equal number of males and females during games. Games are scheduled to begin the week of April 4th.
New for the 2016 season, individuals that are not already a member of a team may sign up as league free agents and be eligible for acquisition by league teams as needed. Free agents must submit registration paperwork and pay non-resident fee if applicable to register. The Rec & Parks Department cannot guarantee that a free agent will be acquired, as acquisitions are strictly at the discretion and need of league teams.
Men’s league play will take place on Monday nights, co-ed league on Tuesday nights, and women’s league on Thursday nights. The season will consist of 10 regular season games and a post-season tournament. The season is scheduled to run through mid-June.
For more information or to obtain the registration paperwork; teams may contact the Oak Ridge Department of Recreation and Parks at 425-3440, or inquire at the front desk of the Oak Ridge Civic Center.
Registration materials are due at the front desk of the Civic Center by the registration deadlines. You may also visit us online at
