On March 9, 2015, at approximately 12:04 a.m., Oak Ridge police officers Grant Gouldie and Ben Higgins were dispatched to the Centennial Golf Course Clubhouse, 101 Centennial Bluff Blvd., Oak Ridge in reference to a burglary. During the investigation on scene by Officer Gouldie and Higgins, it was determined a glass door was shattered and a set of golf clubs were missing.
Golf course employees who arrived to turn off the alarm were also interviewed, and video images of the burglary was reviewed and a suspect identified. The value of the stolen/damaged property was placed at approximately $1697. Later that same day, at approximately 3:25pm, Detective Kevin Craig interviewed the suspect, a former Centennial Golf Course employee identified as Chris Queen, of Knoxville.
Queen was placed under arrest and was transported to Anderson County Detention Facility, where he was charged with one count of burglary. The investigation remains ongoing and no further details will be released at this time.
