Fire Chief Darryl Kerley announced today that a the Oak Ridge Fire Department, in conjunction with the Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the BW Y-12 fire departments will be hosting a fire officer professional development conference this weekend December 8th and 9th from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm both days, at the New Hope Auditorium located at the East entrance to the Y-12 facility.

There will be two of our nation’s finest leaders in fire service to speak at the conference:

? Saturday December 8th- Tim Sendelbach, Deputy Chief of North Las Vegas Fire Department and Editor-in-Chief of Fire Rescue Magazine, will deliver a class on initial company operations.

? Sunday December 9th, Alan Brunacini, retired chief of the Phoenix, Arizona Fire Department and well know author of many fire service training manuals, will be speaking on leadership skills necessary for managing large events.

This event is free to volunteer and paid firefighters in the East Tennessee area. There are currently over 150 students registered for the conference.
