Mofield Brothers Construction Co. LLC of Carthage, TN working under contract to the City of Oak Ridge, Public Works Department is presently doing work to complete the City’s water distribution system in the west end of Oak Ridge.
Beginning the week of May 14, 2012, they will be boring under the Clinch River between west Bear Creek Road in Oak Ridge and Culton Lane in Roane County for the purpose of installing a 12 inch diameter high density polyethylene water line.
A portion of this work will take place in an easement granted by the State of Tennessee at the entrance to the Gallaher Recreation Area boat ramp. This work is anticipated to take approximately 2 weeks and will require closure of that area.
Unforeseen circumstances or inclement weather could cause delays.
The City apologizes to the public for any inconvenience this closure may cause. Questions or comments can be directed to the City of Oak Ridge, Public Works Department at 425-1875.
