Not in My Town Logo Contest Announced

The Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce a logo contest supporting the City of Oak Ridge’s “Not in My Town” initiative. The logo will be used as a way to identify projects associated with the initiative. The winner of the contest will win a second generation 16 gb Apple iPad.

Entries for the contest are due to the Chamber no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, August 1. All entries should be in color. The logo will be used in print and electronic media as well as on items throughout Oak Ridge ranging from dumpsters to parade floats and many things in between.

The Chamber’s Communication Advisory Committee will judge all entries and will make the decision on which entry is the winner.

According to Courtney Henry, WSI Oak Ridge Public Affairs Manager and chair of the Chamber’s Communication Advisory Committee, “The Chamber is pleased to sponsor this competition to help the city develop a recognizable logo to help with the ‘branding’ of the City’s ‘Not in My Town’ campaign. We think it’s so important for the citizens of Oak Ridge and for those who work here to take pride in this wonderful community. This is a way for the Chamber to help support that mission.”

“We encourage anyone who is interested to submit designs for this contest. Anyone under the age of 18 needs to have a parent’s permission to enter,” said Henry.

All entries must be accompanied by an entry form, which is available at the Chamber’s website www.oakridgechamber.org. Individuals may submit more than one entry. The committee reserves the right not to select a winner if, in its sole discretion, no suitable entries are received.
