Reminder of Public Meeting for Special Programs Fund Expenditures
The City of Oak Ridge has scheduled a public meeting tonight (April 4) to gather community input on the
Special Programs Fund Expenditures. The meeting is from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Oak Ridge Civic Center, Social Room.
The Special Programs Fund was established last year at the direction of City Council from revenues derived from red light and speed camera violations. City staff has recommended that expenditures from the Special Programs Fund be utilized for transportation enhancement projects to improve traffic capacity and safety, school crossings, and for bicycle and pedestrian safety improvements at multiple locations throughout the City. A list of proposed projects has been discussed at public work sessions of City Council.
This meeting will serve as an additional opportunity for citizens to provide input into the use of the Special Programs Fund.
For more information about the April 4
th
meeting on Special Programs Fund Expenditures, contact Amy Fitzgerald, Government and Public Affairs Coordinator, at (865) 425-3554.
