Oak Ridge Institute for Continued Learning: Municipal Government 101

The City of Oak Ridge offers a class at Roane State’s Oak Ridge Institute for Continued Learning (ORICL) titled Municipal Government 101: Fundamentals of Oak Ridge City Government. 

This course provides basic information as to how Oak Ridge government is organized and the functions of each of the city’s departments. It presents an opportunity for participants to understand some of the issues our municipal government has authority to resolve – and some that it does not. 

Participants who need assistance with specific issues will be provided with contact information for the appropriate City department that would address their issue. If you would like to participate, it is expected to be offered again in the Summer 2024 semester.
