Senior Center

OR-Senior-Center-exterior-front

The Oak Ridge senior citizens have had a facility dedicated to their needs since 1977. Opportunities for recreation, information, volunteerism, education, health screening, computer use, Senior Nutrition Lunch Program, and physical fitness are offered. The Senior Center also provides a meeting place for many community senior citizen organizations and an information source on programs/services available to the elderly.

Drop-In Recreation

A  recreation room holds 3 pool tables and two snooker tables, as well as tables for cards, games, and puzzles. Rooms are available for meetings, classes, and card playing. Free public Wi-Fi access and a printer are available for participant use. The Center is a smoke-free facility with restricted membership to participants 50 years and older. Proof of age must be presented to staff upon request. Participants may be accompanied by an under-50 spouse or adult guest (18 or older), as long as the spouse or guest is attending the same activity as the senior participant.

Programs

Currently, the Oak Ridge Senior Center is offering limited structured on-site programming but is not yet allowing rental opportunities for other groups.  The Senior Center offers activities such as Bingo, card games, exercise classes, and educational opportunities. We are also working to provide some virtual opportunities as well. Please feel free to call the Senior Center at (865) 425-3999 with any questions.
