Waste Connections Convenience Center

The City contracts with Waste Connections of Tennessee for the collection and disposal of residential trash and recycling. Residential household trash is picked up curbside once per week in blue, 95-gallon, trash bins with lids the are supplied by Waste Connections of Tennessee. 

Recyclable items are picked up once a week curbside in the brown cart with wheels, also supplied by Waste Connections of Tennessee. If there is not a brown cart at your residence, please call (865) 482-3656 to have one delivered. 

If you received your recycle cart before July 1, 2021, you likely have a 65-gallon cart. If you receive one after July 1, 2021, it will be a 95-gallon cart.

  • Newspaper

  • Codes 1 through 7 must be stamped on the item (no plastic bags or grocery bags)

Annual Pickup Programs

Collection services include bi-annual household trash pickup in the spring and fall, annual brush pickup in the spring, and annual leaf pickup which begins late fall.  All schedules for annual pickup programs are typically advertised in local newspapers, in addition to being posted below.

Scheduled bi-annually during the fall and spring

  • Household trash, old appliances and minor remodeling materials will be picked up
  • One pickup truck of material is allowed per residence (this is defined as one pickup truck load, or approximately 3 feet high by 4 feet wide by 8 feet long; approximately 100 cubic feet maximum)
  • Materials should be placed near, but not beyond the curb
  • Residents are required to keep all materials off sidewalks, parking areas and out of gutters at the street
