The Public Safety Communications Department is responsible for answering all 911 Emergency Calls for Police, Fire and Ambulance, and dispatching the appropriate personnel.

This department also handles all non-emergency calls for service for Police and Fire assistance.  After normal City business hours, the Dispatch office answers all emergency calls for Public Works (Water), Electric (Power Outages) and Animal Control Departments.

Dispatchers monitor multiple communications radio channels for Police, Fire, Animal Control, other City Departments and surrounding agencies. They are also responsible for monitoring and making entries into the National Crime Information Center for Wanted/Missing Persons, Stolen Property and researching information to assist Officers with their reports.
