Anderson County Programs

Anderson County Solid Waste Management provides recycling programs for Anderson County residents. Residents may recycle the following items at the Blockhouse Valley Center, located in Clinton:

Tires (with or without rims), Automotive Oil/Filters, Antifreeze, Major Appliances/Scrap Metal*, Dry Cell/Lead Acid Batteries, Paint, Fluorescent Light Tubes, Cell Phones, Toner/Printer Cartridges, Televisions, Stereo Equipment, Radios, VCR and DVD Players, Video Game Equipment, Computers and related equipment with circuit board.

*Will not accept: Stoves, washers/dryers, dishwashers, water heaters, fencing, barb wire or small appliances like toasters, coffee makers, vaccuums, etc.

The Blockhouse Valley Center is located at 1480 Blockhouse Valley Road, Clinton. Please call (865) 463-6845 for directions.

The hours of operation are every Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Anderson County Solid Waste Management also offers a Household Hazardous Waste Drop-off Program 1-2 times each year. The event is typically advertised in local newspapers with the date and location information.

The fall Household Hazardous Waste pick-up is scheduled for Saturday, September 17, 2016 from 9:00am until 2:00pm at the Central Services Complex located at 100 Woodbury Lane. Please click here for accepted items.

HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE is anything generated in the household that has a hazardous property. A material is hazardous if it is flammable, corrosive, toxic or reactive with heat or contact with other metals.

These residential recycling services are provided by the Anderson County Solid Waste Management Office and are for the residents of Anderson County only. Sorry, no businesses.
