You will need a picture ID (Driver's license [with current address], passport, military ID, Plant ID).  If the address isn't correct on your picture ID, we will accept a personal check with current address, a rental receipt, tax or utility bill with current address or mail addressed to patron with current Oak Ridge address.

Oak Ridge Public Library offers these types of library cards: Resident; Juvenile and Non-resident.

Oak Ridge city residents and real property holders are eligible for cards at no cost. Valid identification showing name and current Oak Ridge address is required. Real property holders living outside Oak Ridge must present a current tax receipt as well as valid ID. People living in Oak Ridge for a short time are also eligible for resident cards at no cost. Valid identification showing name and current Oak Ridge address is required as well as identification showing a more permanent address.

Children of Oak Ridge residents from infancy through age 17 are eligible for cards at no cost. A parent or legal guardian must be present with ID showing current address and must co-sign the child's application for children in the 6th grade or younger.  Videos and DVDs cannot be checked out on juvenile cards. 

People living outside Oak Ridge may purchase a year's membership for $45. Valid identification showing name and current address is required.

If your Library card is lost or stolen, please contact the library at 425-3455 as soon as possible so that we can cancel your card. Members are responsible for all material checked out on their card until it has been reported missing. Replacement cards are issued for $4.00.

Your Library card is good for 1 year.  Annually you will need to renew your card.  To renew, you will need your Library card (replacement cards are $4.00), valid photo ID with current address and your fines and overdues must be paid and lost or damaged items must be returned or paid for before your card can be renewed.
