CodeRED Community Notification System
The
CodeRED Community Notification System
is a system used by the City to make notifications to the local residence and business during the event of an emergency, extended power outage or other community event, which local areas of the community need to be notified. In addition to the community notification, the system is able to make notifications of severe weather events, especially Tornado Warnings. Many residences no longer have home phones, but rely on their cell phone for communication. The code red system allows individuals to log into the system and register their cell phones, and e-mails in order to receive severe weather alerts while at work or home. If an individual lives outside the Oak Ridge City limits, but works in the city, then they can register their cell phone at the business address and receive notification of severe weather event while at work.
