City's Youth Advisory Board Sets Goals for 2017-2018 Term of Office

Aug 29, 2017 - Newly appointed members of the Oak Ridge Youth Advisory Board held their first meetings this month for the 2017-2018 term of office to discuss and decide on goals for the year. Members voted to continue some of their most popular events.

Community Discussion on Oak Ridge Preschool Project Planned for Sept. 7

Aug 25, 2017 - City leaders will host a fifth and final community meeting regarding the new Oak Ridge Preschool at Scarboro Community Center on September 7. This meeting will focus on recreational amenities in Scarboro Park as well as the current project budget.

City of Oak Ridge to Celebrate 75th Anniversary

Aug 24, 2017 - Oak Ridge Mayor Warren Gooch announced today that the City will form a committee to help coordinate and circulate information about the City’s 75th Anniversary. The celebration is set to begin in September 2017.

Registration Open for 12th Annual Memory Magic Scrapbooking Event

Aug 23, 2017 - The Oak Ridge Recreation and Parks Department is sponsoring the 12th Annual Memory Magic scrapbook event at the Civic Center from September 22-23, 2017. Online registration is underway and will continue through September 20.

Notification of Emergency Sewer Line Repair

Aug 17, 2017 - The Oak Ridge Public Works Department has announced emergency repair work that is set to begin August 21 on a sewer line that runs underneath Oak Ridge Turnpike. No roads will need to be closed during the project.

Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event Set for September 16

Aug 16, 2017 - Anderson Co. Solid Waste Management and the TN Dept. of Environment and Conservation are sponsoring a Household Hazardous Waste Collection on September 16. The collection will be held at the City of Oak Ridge Central Services Complex.

Next Oak Ridge City Blueprint Meeting Scheduled for August 24

Aug 11, 2017 - The Community Development Department is continuing the Oak Ridge City Blueprint effort with a discussion focused on the Emory Valley, Briarcliff and Lakeview residential neighborhoods. An open house will be held on August 24 at Jefferson Middle.

2nd Annual Puppy Pool Party Set for End of Oak Ridge Outdoor Pool Season

Aug 08, 2017 - The Recreation and Parks Department will once again host a Puppy Pool Party after the Outdoor Municipal Swimming Pool closes for the season. The last day for public swimming will be August 18. The puppy pool party will take place on August 19.

Road Closure for Culvert Replacement Begins August 7

Aug 03, 2017 - The Public Works Department will close a portion of Tusculum Drive from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. starting August 7, 2017, so crews can replace a culvert under the road. The project is expected to be active until August 9.
