Section of Greenway Closed Along Melton Lake Drive

May 23, 2017 - A section of Melton Lake Greenway on either side of the UT-Battelle rowing tower will be closed on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning May 23. The closure is necessary to allow the Public Works Department to paint the tower.

Community Garden Seed Exchange Opens at Oak Ridge Public Library

May 16, 2017 - A new initiative is underway at the library to encourage seasoned gardeners, beginning gardeners and everyone in between to share and exchange garden seeds. Gardeners can now check out a packet of seeds at the library in much the same way they check out a book.

Diseased Ash Trees Threaten Oak Ridge Electric System

May 15, 2017 - Ash trees are dying due to a pest known as the Emerald Ash Borer. Once compromised by the beetle, trees pose a significant hazard. In order to prevent incidents, the Electric Department will be identifying and, in some cases, removing ash trees found in public rights of way.

Notice of Project Requiring Heavy Machinery in Groves Park

EPA Recognizes Oak Ridge as Leading Green Power Community

May 11, 2017 - Oak Ridge has once again been designated as a Green Power Community by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The City is collectively using more than 32 million kilowatt-hours of green power annually, which is enough to meet 16 percent of the community's total electricity use.

Art on Display at the Oak Ridge Public Library

May 01, 2017 - The art exhibit at the library for the month of May consists of a variety of works done by The Arty Group. Landscapes, portraits and flowers are featured subjects of this exhibit. The works are created in acrylics, watercolors, oils, pastels, and colorful collages.
