Beginning June 1, 2015, the City Clerk’s will be accepting applications to fill current vacancies on four city boards.
The Environmental Quality Advisory Board (EQAB), the Personnel Advisory Board (PAB), the Trade Licensing Board (TLB), and the Traffic Safety Advisory Board (TSAB), all have one vacancy each.
The terms of offices are as follows:

Balance of an unexpired term ending on December 31, 2017
As a requirement, all applicants must be residents of the City of Oak Ridge to be considered. Additionally, the Trade Licensing Board vacancy has a preference for an individual who holds a current and valid mechanical license from the City of Oak Ridge; however, applicants from the public-at-large can be considered.
Interested residents must complete a Boards and Commissions Application available on the City Clerk’s departmental website or by visiting www.oakridgetn.gov/online/cityclerk/bcelections. Applicants may also attach additional documents that includes cover letters, references, and resumes. The application allows residents to choose and rank their top three (3) board choices for membership consideration.
Paper editions of the on-line application are also available in the City Clerk’s Office located in Room Number 109 in the Municipal Building.
To be considered, completed applications must be submitted to the City Clerk’s Office by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2015; late applications will not be considered.
Interested residents can also visit the City’s website to learn about the different boards’ composition, purpose, meeting schedules, and review the special qualifications for membership to certain boards.
The election to fill the aforementioned vacancies is scheduled to occur at the July 13, 2015 City Council Meeting.
