MID-YEAR ELECTION FOR VACANCIES
During the May 12, 2014 City Council Meeting, the City Council concurred to hold a mid-year election on July 14, 2014 to fill current vacancies of City Boards and Commissions, so as to allow those boards to continue with full membership.
Beginning June 2, 2014, the City Clerk's Office will begin to accept applications for those vacancies. To be considered, applicants must be residents of the City of Oak Ridge and complete an application by
12:00 p.m., noon on Friday, June 20, 2014
. Late applications will
not
be considered. Additional qualifications may be required per the bylaws of the boards. For a listing of those qualifications, please view the table below:

(1) Balance of an unexpired term ending on December 31, 2015; and (2) Balance of an unexpired term ending on December 31, 2016.
One (1) vacancy is for one architect or engineer while the other vacancy can be filled by the public-at-large. If no individuals meet the above criteria, City Council may appoint applicants from the public-at-large.
Convention and Visitors Bureau

Balance of an unexpired term ending on December 31, 2014.
No special qualifications, other than Oak Ridge residency.
Oak Ridge Housing Authority
1
Balance of an unexpired term ending on December 31, 2015.
No special qualifications, other than Oak Ridge residency.
Recreation and Parks
Advisory Board

(1) Balance of an unexpired term ending on December 31, 2014; and (2) Balance of an unexpired term ending on December 31, 2015.
No special qualifications, other than Oak Ridge residency.
Senior Advisory Board

Both vacancies are for balance of unexpired terms ending on December 31, 2014.
One (1) member shall be a representative of the 43 Club; one (1) member shall be a representative of the AARP, Oak Ridge Chapter.
Traffic Safety Advisory Board
1
Balance of an unexpired term ending on December 31, 2014.
No special qualifications, other than Oak Ridge residency.
