The City of Oak Ridge Recreation & Parks Department has contracted with Rich Construction of Lenoir City, TN to construct a new 2,300 square foot pavilion at the Oak Ridge Marina. This structure will replace the existing 880 square foot picnic shelter in the park. The new pavilion will be located in the same location, between the playground and the Melton Lake Greenway, with exceptional views of Melton Hill Lake and the Oak Ridge rowing course.

The existing picnic shelter was removed by city staff in late September. Rich construction began site work for the new pavilion in early October. The pavilion has arrived and is now under construction. Weather permitting, construction is expected to be completed sometime in late November.

The public is asked to use caution in the park while construction activities are taking place. The schedule may change in the event of inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Construction of the new pavilion is possible due to a generous donation from UT/Battelle.
