29th Annual Children's Halloween Party

The Oak Ridge Recreation and Parks Department will host the 2011 Children’s Halloween Party on Thursday, October 27, 6-8:30 pm. The party is primarily for preschool and elementary aged children. Older children attending with an adult are welcome.

Activities include carnival games, a giant inflatable slide, a game room for toddlers, Halloween cartoon videos, a Glow room, and a Karaoke lounge. The ever popular Scary Room will have a haunted pirate ship theme this year. A hayride is planned for Bissell Park, weather permitting.

Tickets will be sold at the door for 25 cents each. Most of the activities cost 1 or 2 tickets. The Karaoke lounge, cartoon videos and toddler area are free. Concessions and souvenirs will also be available for purchase.

Area organizations and businesses are invited to sponsor game booths for the event. The Recreation and Parks Department will provide the games and prizes unless the sponsoring group chooses to provide their own. Volunteers should plan to arrive by 5:30 p.m. to sign in and receive their event tee shirt. A pizza meal will be provided after the event for all volunteers.

Call the Civic Center information desk, at 865-425-3450 to volunteer. Visit the Recreation and Parks website at www.orrecparks.org for more information about this and other events and programs.
